Coach Reid Elam

Coach Reid Elam (founder/director of ELAM STRENGTH and Elam Sports O`ahu) has many years coaching experience at the High School, University and Professional levels.  He has coached football (and other sports) at `Iolani School, University of Oregon, Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, University of Texas, Central Washington University, Washington State University, Pearl City High School, Chaminade University, University of West O`ahu, professionally for the indoor arena team Hawai`i Hammerheads and in the NFL for the Detroit Lions.  Notably, he was the first Strength and Conditioning coach at Oregon State University, coaching the basketball through four straight PAC-10 championship seasons and two straight NIT championship seasons.  He has trained numerous NBA and NFL draft picks as well as two Olympians.  Locally, he has conducted Hawai`i's first professional combines for the IPFL, SFL and Arena 2 football leagues.  In addition, he organized Hawai`i's first collegiate club football programs through the founding of the non-profit group HC8FA.  His career includes being a research scientist at NASA, Space Biomedical Institute, author of numerous articles published in national journals and co-founded Elam Sports O`ahu Therapy & Training located in Kapolei in 1999.
